Writer/director John Taylor is at the helm of his third feature film, following Promenade (2007) and Brainwrap (2008). Leach was co-produced by 3 O’clock Productions.
The film stars Jim Dougherty (Scelene, Fire From Below) as Wes, a recovering alcoholic, who finds himself thrust into a situation that threatens his life and the lives of his family. Also starring in the film are Thomas J. Smith (Brainwrap) of PA and Libby McDermott (Hannah Montana, Brainwrap).
Many of the supporting cast members are from the Central Indiana area. Local actors include James Copeland, Randy DeFord, Leland Franklin, Gemma Gould-Dougherty, Jim Hunter, Raymond Kester, Mitch Ross, Adam Shephard, Larna Smith, Martin Stapleton, Johnathon Taylor, Rhonda Tinch-Mize, and Tara Tremaine.
The Director of Photography is Matt Stahley.
Leach was shot in Anderson, Indiana with additional scenes shot in Noblesville, Hartford City, Rochester, Fulton County, and rural Indiana. Several Anderson area businesses supported and/or appear in the film, including Allan’s Jewelry and Loan, Anderson Costumes, Inc., Backyard Broadcasting, Central Christian Church, City of Anderson Fire Dept., City of Anderson Police Dept., C.J. Boots Casket Company, East Side Lanes, Goodrich Quality Theaters, H&K Motel, and Lemon Drop Drive-In.
